The exhibit will present a mix of contemporary interpretations of Celtic Crosses along with images of medieval sculpture and some rare artistic renderings from the early days of the Celtic Revival. The High Cross monuments of medieval Ireland, Scotland and other areas influenced by the Insular religious and artistic traditions still form a pattern book for contemporary craftsmen. But many modern designers go far beyond merely copying historical models.

The exhibit will feature sculpture by Alec MacCrea, Paul Haggins and Patrick Gallagher, photography by Catriona Frasier, Graphics by Henry O'Neill , Fiona and Burgess Hay and Jeff Fitzpatrick Adams, tapestries by Ruth Black and jewelry by Aidan Breen, Alexander Ritchie, Russell Caldwell and Stephen Walker as well as anonymous works from the Celtic Revival. The artists represented are from Scotland, Ireland and the United States and date from 1850 to the present, with many works illustrating older Celtic Crosses.

Walker’s Celtic Jewelry is located at the corner of Park Avenue and Meigs Street in Rochester, NY. Regular hours are 11 to 7 Tuesdays through Fridays, Saturday 11 – 5.
